Nine Milestones in
Heart Rhythm Practice

Look for these early milestones as you develop experience with Heart Rhythm Practice. They may occur in a slightly different order. All of the milestones in the practice are based on direct sensation, not speculation or fantasy. The following milestones all occur in Stage 1.

There are five stages of Heart Rhythm Meditation. A description of the stages is Five Stages. Page references are to the book, Living from the Heart.

1.

The "Monolithic" condition, where your whole body feels undifferentiated - all one piece. This results from disabling the sensation of pressure by holding absolutely still. (Page 101.)

2.

Experiencing a rush of energy as you breathe in after a full exhalation. (Page 145.)

3.

Feeling your pulse, the echo of your heartbeat, somewhere in your body, while you hold your breath. (Page 165.)

4.

Feeling your heartbeat in your chest as you hold your inhalation. (Page 168.)

5.

Feeling your heartbeat in your chest simultaneously with your pulse in your feet.

6.

Being able to do the Square Breath for 10 breaths in a row. (Page 171.)

7.

Radiating a field of peace from your heart into the space around you as you breathe out. (Page 173.)

8.

Feeling a magnetic force between your hands as you bring them slowly closer together. (Page 179.)

9.

Feeling your magnetic field as a pulsating sensation in your skin and the surrounding space. (Page 185)
